A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a collision involving a jeep on the Carlow/Wexford border yesterday.
The man, aged in his 50’s was air lifted from the scene to St. James Hospital, Dublin with serious life-threatening injuries. The driver of the jeep, a male in his 40’s was not injured.
The collision occurred at approximately 3.10pm on the N80 at Ravenswood, Bunclody, on the Carlow side of the county boundary.
Gardaí and emergency services from Bunclody, Co. Wexford and Tullow and Carlow, Co. Carlow attended the scene. The Irish Air Corps 112 MediVac helicopter also attended from its base in Athlone, Co. Westmeath.
Carlow Gardaí are investigating the collision and are appealing for anyone with information, particularly any road users who may have witnessed the collision or have dash-cam footage, to contact them at Carlow Garda Station on 059 913 6620, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
