In December 2020 members of the Air Corps fund-raised in Baldonnel in a unique way, by having self-portraits taken of themselves by BFW Foreman and avid photographer Mark Pollock, along with Airmen David O’Dowd and Jamie Martin, both photographers from 105 Sqn.
Three Veterans Organisations; ARCO, IUNVA & ONE, will share in over €1000 which was raised from the many generous staff.
On Thursday last, 25th of February in IUNVA Post 11 (The Curragh), €350 was handed over to John Murray National Treasurer IUNVA by Mark Pollock, and Sgt Wayne Fitzgerald, Press & PR, Air Corps HQ.
Mark and Wayne thanked all those who supported their association. “This donation is greatly appreciated by IUNVA as all street collections have had to be cancelled since covid began. It costs nearly €9,000 for insurance for the Association each year alone. Rents for our drop-in centres, electricity/heating, welfare, administration, transport, upkeep of monuments, etc has to be paid – so every donation is precious. If anybody wishes to donate please see our donate button on our website www.IUNVA.ie or contact your local post of IUNVA. We thank all who support our Association and please stay safe at this troubled time.”
