An investigation is underway following an incident in Waterford City when a Garda Van which had arrived at the scene on John Street rolled down a hill and collided with a car and three pedestrians.
The incident happened at around 2.45am yesterday morning (Sunday 21st August)) when gardaí were dealing with an incident outside a nightclub on John Street. Emergency Times understands a garda van was requested to attend the scene and after it arrived, the van is believed to have rolled down a hill before colliding with the vehicle and pedestrians.
Crews from Waterford City Fire Service and the Waterford based ambulance service were called to the incident.
The injured pedestrians were taken to University Hospital Waterford where their injuries and condition is described s ‘non-life threatening’.
