Potential Paramedics and Control Call-takers visit Ambulance stand at Jobs Expo

Thousands of job seekers marched into Croke Park in Dublin yesterday for Ireland’s leading jobs and employment fair, Jobs Expo, which event organisers say was this year’s event was a much bigger event than previously.

A wide range of Irish and multinational companies covering a variety of industries were recruiting at yesterdays event. These included healthcare, emergency services, education, financial services, marketing, pharmaceutical, construction, engineering, retail sales, tourism and hospitality.

The National Ambulance Service (NAS) exhibition stand showcased the national service overall including the National Ambulance Service College and the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). The NAS stand within the main exhibition arena attracted lots of interest from those wishing to john the frontline ambulance or emergency services and personnel from the NAS’ Educational & Competency Department and the EOC were all on hand to speak to and advise job seekers.

In addition to employers recruiting at the event, there were a series of talks from industry experts on the Expo’s Agenda Stage. The NAS sponsored one of the event’s seminar & talks. Ambulance Officer Tom Brady and Control Supervisor Richard Gleeson of the NAS both delivered presentations about all aspects of the National Ambulance Service from the Expo’s Agenda Stage.

Other talks which took place included popular US Immigration Attorney Caro Kinsella on how to obtain a US Visa, Education Personnel’s Kristina Appleby spoke about teaching jobs in New Zealand and Boston Scientific.

Job-seekers met one-on-one with professional development coaches for advice on their career and life choices.

Event organizer Kevin Branigan of Careers Unlimited said “We are really delighted with the mix of companies who took part in this October’s Jobs Expo. There was a huge range of industries and opportunities for recent graduates or school leavers, highly skilled, unemployed or those returning to the workforce or looking for their next challenge”.
