A MAJOR Fire ripped through a cleaning products factory last night in Drogheda, Co. Louth. The fire occurred at around 10pm last night at the ‘Dawn Paper’ factory on the Donore Road in the town.
Multiple Fire Brigade Units from across the North East attended the blaze. Gardai are treating the incident as Arson and have arrested a teenager in relation to the fire.
The blaze was visible for many miles away. Such was the intense heat, the steel structure inside the building ‘had melted as if it was plastic’, said one eye witness. Fire fighters remain at the scene this morning to dampen down, while Gardai have closed off the Donore Industrial Estate road.
Senior Fire Officers at Louth County Fire Service said it was too early to establish the cause of the fire. There were no reports of any injures following the blaze.
