A man has been hospitalised after he became impaled while carrying out construction work at a unit inside the Fairgreen Shopping Centre, in Carlow town this afternoon. Emergency Times understands the man fell through a suspended ceiling, resulting in an object going through his arm.
Carlow County Fire & Rescue Service, the National Ambulance Service and local Gardai responded to the emergency call. A Fire tender and an Emergency tender from Carlow Town (CW11) attended.
The casualty was removed to St. Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny. The Health & Safety Authority has been informed.
