A large-scale search operation for missing 16-year-old Damien Cullen has concluded when the teenager was found safe.
The two-day search for the missing Carlow teenager involved multi-agencies including the gardaí, Defence Forces, Civil Defence and Irish Coast Guard.
Damien Cullen was last seen at S. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny on Friday where he was a patient.
A search team rendezvous point was established this morning in the car park of a disused public house, on the Castlecomer road outside Kilkenny. Family and friends gathered at 7am to join gardaí and search teams.

The search area concentrated on the Ballygoyle and Radenstown areas of Kilkenny.
Kilkenny Civil Defence were assisted in the search by Civil Defence units from counties Carlow, Laois, Tipperary and Galway. Search & Rescue Drone Units from Galway and Laois were also utilised for the search.
The missing teenager was found safe on farmlands in Ballyfoyle at around 4.30pm.

Local radio reports from Carlow/Kilkenny’s KCLR96FM said the teenager was brought to St. Luke’s Hospital for assessment. KCLR96FM said gardaí have thanked the volunteers and the search teams for their assistance in finding Damien.
