Two Gardai are recovering today after being assaulted by a group of youths in Dublin last night.
Both gardaí were hospitalised following the attack. They were taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment.
The incident happened just after midnight on Manor Street in Stoneybatter, in the north inner city when the male and female gardaí, who are stationed at Bridewell garda station, were on foot patrol in the area when they were set upon and assaulted by the youths.
One teenage boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being held at the Bridewell Garda Station.
