Gardai are investigating a two-vehicle collision in which a Garda car was involved in overnight.
The crash occurred at around 3.45am on the Donegal to Ballybofey road, Co. Donegal in an area known locally as McGrory’s Brea at Meencaragh, just outside Ballybofey town.
The drivers of both cars were taken to Donegal University Hospital where their injuries are said to be non life threatening.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic collision investigation and local diversions are in place. Officers from the Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission are at the scene.
Gardai in Letterkeny are appealing for witnesses in particular anyone who may have been on the Ballybofey to Donegal Rd between 3.15am and 3.45am to contact Letterkenny Garda station on 074 9167100, the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
