A Nursing home in Foxford, County Mayo was evacuated last night after the River Moy began to flood it.
Mayo County Council and the Health Service Executive activated its evacuation plan at 11.30pm. Mayo County Fire Service, the National Ambulance Service, Mayo Civil Defence, the Irish Red Cross, Order of Malta and Community Care Services were all alerted to assist at in the evacuation.

A local coordination centre was established and 47 residents were moved to pre-arranged care facilities and a local leisure centre in the county.
Civil Defence units from Ballina and Castlebar assisted with three ambulances and three 4WD vehicles. The incident was stood down at 3.40am this morning.
