Member of the Defence Forces are being presented with the International Operational Service Medal by the Minister of State with Responsibility for Defence, Paul Kehoe TD at a special ceremony in Cobh, Co. Cork this afternoon.

The medals are in recognition of the oversees humanitarian missions undertaken by the Defence Force personnel who have served on Operation Pontus in the Mediterranean, with reference to the crew of the LÉ Niamh and also to those who deployed on Operation Gritrock in Sierra Leon to counter the Ebola Crisis.
The ceremony is taking place at Deep Water in Cobh.
