A Garda investigation is underway into a huge blaze which took place at a car scrapyard near Dunleer, Co. Louth.
The fire was reported at around 5am.
Almost 200 cars are reported to have been destroyed in a blaze at Cassidy’s Scrapyard at Grangebellew.
Up to fifteen fire brigade appliances from across County Louth were mobilised to the incident.

Fire crews from Dunleer, Ardee, Drogheda, Dundalk, Carlingford and Navan fire stations have been fighting the blaze since in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters have managed to bring the blaze under control, however there are still many pockets of fire being dealt with.
Louth Fire & Rescue Services’ Chief Fire Officer and other Senior Fire Officers are also at the scene.
10 fire tenders, 2 Water Carriers, Louth’s Incident Command Unit and their new Chemical Incident Unit were all in attendance at the fire.
There are no reports of any injuries.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 041-9838777.
